Cami Ostman
Cami Ostman’s first book, Second Wind: One Woman’s Midlife Quest to Run Seven Marathons on Seven Continents, was written while she was in a Phoenix experience—after a divorce, before she felt strong and self-possessed. Writing the book gave her the chance to ask, “What do I wish to be true about my main character (me) in this chapter?” As her manuscript developed, she started to inhabit the words she was writing about herself, reinventing her 3D self as the "character" unfolded on the page. Besides her own story, working as a therapist, she came to know that we as humans create our identities with stories. As we tell and listen to stories, we become! This discovery was too powerful to keep to herself. Now Director of The Narrative Project, Cami supports writers through her signature seven stages of the writer’s journey and fosters the transformations of those she works with. The Narrative Project’s programs give individuals everything they need to get their books done.
